Senior Manager, Commercial & Business Operations

Location: Remote, U.S.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $120,000–$135,000

Role Overview

CONNEQT Health is seeking a Senior Manager, Commercial & Business Operations to own and continuously improve the operational infrastructure connecting our commercial activity, financial administration and company-wide execution.

This is a senior, hands-on role for an experienced operator who can both build the system and operate it.

A major focus of the position is ensuring that customer commitments translate efficiently into orders and cash. The Senior Manager will own the operational lifecycle from customer supplier onboarding and procurement through purchase orders, invoicing and collections, including the requirements associated with selling to hospitals, universities, research institutions, government organizations and other complex customers.

The role will also own key finance operations, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, Xero administration, vendor management and financial process coordination.

Beyond commercial and finance operations, this person will play an important role in how CONNEQT operates as a company by establishing effective company-wide communication, coordination, documentation and operating rhythms.

The ideal candidate combines the attention to detail required to resolve an individual customer procurement or payment issue with the ability to recognize recurring problems and build systems that prevent them from happening again.

Why This Role Matters

As CONNEQT grows, operational complexity grows with it.

A customer deciding to purchase does not automatically translate into an order or cash. Institutional customers may require supplier registration, procurement approvals, compliance documentation, purchase orders and specific invoicing processes before a transaction can be completed.

At the same time, growth requires increasingly disciplined internal processes. Information needs to move reliably between teams. Decisions need clear ownership. Financial and commercial systems need accurate data. Company priorities need consistent follow-through.

The Senior Manager, Commercial & Business Operations sits at the intersection of these activities.

The objective is to create an operating infrastructure that makes it easy for customers to do business with CONNEQT, ensures CONNEQT gets paid, and helps the company operate as a coordinated organization.

This is not a role focused solely on administering existing processes. The successful candidate will be expected to identify friction, establish better processes, introduce appropriate automation and build infrastructure that can support substantially greater scale.

Core Responsibilities

Commercial Operations

Own the operational lifecycle from customer commitment through procurement, order and invoicing.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own customer supplier and vendor onboarding from initiation through approval
  • Manage institutional procurement requirements across hospitals, health systems, universities, research organizations, government agencies and other customers
  • Maintain required government registrations, including SAM.gov
  • Manage federal, state and local government supplier and procurement requirements as applicable
  • Maintain familiarity with UEI, CAGE and related federal supplier requirements
  • Own customer procurement and supplier portals
  • Coordinate W-9s, banking information, insurance certificates, compliance questionnaires and other required documentation
  • Coordinate customer purchase orders and proactively resolve outstanding PO requirements
  • Maintain customer-specific purchasing, billing and procurement requirements
  • Support commercial contract administration and associated documentation
  • Establish clear operational handoffs between Sales, Customer Success, Operations and Finance
  • Identify and resolve issues that could delay orders, fulfillment, invoicing or payment
  • Develop scalable processes for managing increasing customer and transaction volume

The Senior Manager is expected to personally manage material issues while continuously improving the underlying process.

Accounts Receivable & Finance Operations

Own the day-to-day operating processes that convert completed commercial activity into cash.

Responsibilities include:

  • Own customer invoicing and accounts receivable processes
  • Ensure invoices contain accurate customer, billing and purchase order information
  • Manage invoice submission through customer AP and procurement portals
  • Monitor accounts receivable aging and collection activity
  • Proactively follow up on outstanding customer balances
  • Identify why invoices are delayed, rejected or disputed and drive issues through resolution
  • Establish appropriate collection and escalation processes
  • Maintain visibility into expected customer payments and material outstanding balances
  • Develop and report appropriate AR and working-capital metrics
  • Support accounts payable and vendor payment processes
  • Maintain accurate customer, supplier and transaction records in Xero
  • Support banking and payment administration
  • Coordinate with internal finance resources and external accounting partners
  • Establish appropriate documentation, approvals and financial operating controls

The objective is not simply to report outstanding receivables. The Senior Manager should understand what is outstanding, why it is outstanding, what action is required and when payment is expected.

Commercial Systems & Process Ownership

Own the operational integrity of the systems supporting the customer lifecycle.

Responsibilities include:

  • Serve as a business owner for commercial operations processes within HubSpot
  • Maintain strong data integrity across HubSpot, Xero and related systems
  • Define how customer, procurement, order, invoice and payment information moves between systems
  • Establish standardized workflows, fields, ownership rules and process requirements
  • Develop dashboards and reporting that provide management visibility into commercial operations
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and reduce manual data entry
  • Improve handoffs between CRM, accounting and operational systems
  • Maintain appropriate process documentation and standard operating procedures
  • Work with technical resources as required to implement integrations and automation

The successful candidate does not need to be a software engineer but should be highly comfortable designing business processes around technology.

Company Operations & Coordination

Help ensure CONNEQT operates as a coordinated organization by owning company-wide operating processes, communication rhythms and cross-functional follow-through.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establish and maintain effective company-wide operating rhythms
  • Coordinate recurring company and leadership meetings
  • Support clear company-wide communication of priorities, decisions and important developments
  • Maintain visibility into key company priorities, commitments and action items
  • Ensure decisions and actions have clear ownership and appropriate follow-through
  • Coordinate cross-functional initiatives that span multiple teams
  • Identify gaps in ownership, communication or process and drive them toward resolution
  • Maintain centralized company documentation and information resources
  • Help establish effective use of company collaboration and productivity platforms
  • Support company-wide planning and OKR processes
  • Develop lightweight systems that improve organizational clarity without creating unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Serve as a central point of coordination for operational matters that cross functional boundaries

The objective is not to add meetings or process. It is to ensure that important information moves, decisions translate into action, and commitments do not disappear between functions.

Vendor, Corporate & People Administration

Own or coordinate selected company administrative requirements, including:

  • Vendor onboarding and supplier administration
  • Company purchasing and recurring vendor relationships
  • Corporate registrations and administrative documentation
  • Insurance certificates and related documentation
  • Banking administration
  • Employee onboarding and offboarding administration
  • Payroll and benefits coordination with internal or external providers
  • Maintenance of appropriate employee and company records
  • Coordination with external accounting, HR, legal and other professional service providers

This role is not intended to serve as the company’s strategic HR leader. Complex employee relations, employment law, compensation and other specialist matters will be managed with leadership and appropriate external advisors.

Process Improvement & Automation

A core expectation of this role is to make CONNEQT increasingly easier to operate.

The Senior Manager will continuously identify opportunities to:

  • Reduce customer procurement and onboarding time
  • Standardize frequently requested supplier documentation
  • Improve visibility from customer commitment through cash collection
  • Reduce invoice errors and payment delays
  • Improve AR aging and collections processes
  • Automate repetitive administrative activities
  • Improve HubSpot and Xero workflows and data integrity
  • Reduce dependency on spreadsheets and individual inboxes
  • Establish clear sources of truth for company information
  • Improve cross-functional handoffs
  • Create useful management reporting and operational metrics
  • Document processes so they are repeatable and scalable

Success should result not simply in more work being completed, but in less effort being required to accomplish the same work as the company grows.

Key Competencies

  • Strong operational ownership and follow-through
  • Exceptional organization and attention to detail
  • Ability to move comfortably between strategic process design and hands-on execution
  • Strong commercial and financial judgment
  • Persistent problem-solving and willingness to pursue issues through resolution
  • Ability to manage multiple complex workflows simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across functions without relying on formal authority
  • Strong systems thinking and process-design capabilities
  • High comfort level with technology, automation and business systems
  • Ability to identify the underlying cause of recurring operational problems
  • Sound judgment when handling financial, employee and commercially sensitive information
  • Bias toward simple, scalable processes rather than unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Comfortable operating independently in a growing organization

Essential Skills & Experience

  • 8–12 years of relevant professional experience across commercial operations, business operations, sales operations, finance operations, order-to-cash, customer operations, procurement or related functions
  • Demonstrated ownership of commercial or business operations processes
  • Experience managing customer supplier/vendor onboarding and institutional procurement
  • Experience selling into or supporting customers with complex procurement requirements, ideally hospitals, health systems, universities, research institutions or government organizations
  • Experience with government procurement and SAM.gov registration and maintenance
  • Strong understanding of purchase orders, customer procurement workflows and supplier portals
  • Hands-on experience with customer invoicing, accounts receivable and collections
  • Strong proficiency with CRM and accounting/ERP systems
  • Experience with HubSpot strongly preferred
  • Experience with Xero preferred; experience owning comparable accounting or ERP workflows will also be considered
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Experience designing, documenting and improving cross-functional business processes
  • Experience developing management reporting and operational metrics
  • Demonstrated ability to operate independently and take ownership of ambiguous problems through resolution

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and significant relevant professional experience will also be considered

Practical operating experience and demonstrated ownership will be weighted more heavily than a specific academic credential.

Preferred Qualifications

The following are beneficial but not required:

  • Experience in medical devices, healthcare technology, life sciences or another regulated industry
  • Experience operating in a growing small or mid-sized company
  • Experience with federal, state or local government contracting and procurement
  • Familiarity with UEI, CAGE and related government supplier requirements
  • Advanced HubSpot administration or relevant HubSpot certifications
  • Xero Advisor Certification or demonstrated advanced Xero proficiency
  • Experience implementing CRM/accounting integrations and workflow automation
  • Experience with Microsoft 365 collaboration tools, including Teams and SharePoint
  • Experience supporting company-wide planning, OKRs or operating cadences
  • Experience working directly with senior executives and cross-functional leadership teams

Compensation

This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States.

Base Salary: $120,000–$135,000, commensurate with experience and demonstrated ability to independently own commercial, finance and company operations.

CONNEQT Health offers a competitive benefits package and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in building the operating infrastructure of a growing healthcare technology company.

Who This Role Is Ideal For

This role is well suited for an experienced operator who enjoys both solving today’s problem and building the system that prevents tomorrow’s.

The right person might spend part of the morning resolving a procurement issue preventing a major customer from issuing a purchase order, identify why a 60-day-old invoice has not been paid, improve a HubSpot workflow in the afternoon, and then make sure an important cross-functional commitment from the leadership meeting has a clear owner and next step.

They do not consider a task complete because a form was submitted, an email was sent or a meeting occurred.

They ask what outcome was supposed to happen, whether it happened, and if not, what needs to change.

They are comfortable operating without a large team underneath them and are equally comfortable designing a process, implementing it and personally handling the exceptions.

As CONNEQT grows, this person will have the opportunity to build additional capabilities and resources around the operating infrastructure they establish.

The right person will make CONNEQT easier to buy from, easier to operate, and increasingly scalable as the company grows.
